Hoka Speedgoat MID 5 GTX is a grippy and cushioned trailblazer.  A workhorse for sloppy, wet conditions, this trekking/hiking shoe is built with the same GORE-TEX membrane as its lower profile counterpart, along with a soft heel tab to accommodate the Achilles and flexible collar for extra ankle support. Grounded in Vibram® Megagrip with Traction Lugs  for enhanced grip on loose soil, this trail icon employs a foot-cradling heel bolster, rubber toe cap, and gusseted tongue to keep trail debris at bay. A new generation of one of the most persuasive trail shoes on the market. It has undergone several key improvements  - namely a lighter weight and improved traction - that enhance its performance without changing the character of the shoe.

Inspired by Karl Melzter, who holds the record for most 100-mile trail race wins, the fastest completion of the (2,190 mile) Appalachian Trail, and epitomizes the "go everywhere, run everything" attitude, this shoe is designed to attack all breeds of technical trail.
