As you travel across wild terrain, conditions change. Wind and rain become sleet, then snow, then sleet again. The Beta AR Pant delivers waterproof, windproof, breathable protection for comfort across these changes. The GORE-TEX PRO with Most Rugged Technology delivers maximum durability. Articulated patterning adds freedom, WaterTight™ side zips provide drop-seat functionality, and a hidden RECCO® reflector improves searchability in emergency situations. The seat, knees and lower leg are reinforced with burly, abrasion-resistant N80p-X GORE-TEX® Pro 2.0. The careful selection and placement of each textile allow Arc’teryx to deliver a four-season GORE-TEX® pant that balances lightweight, packability and protection from the wear inherent with rugged terrain.
Streamlining design should never mean foregoing essentials. Arc’teryx takes a use driven approach that eliminates the extraneous and pares features to the necessities needed to perform in specific conditions. The Beta AR has rugged Keprotec™ instep patches to protect from ski and crampon cuts, and the Cordura® PowderCuff™ comes over the boot to help protect the paint and seal out snow. A simple zippered pocket at the hip holds small essentials.
The redesign includes updated fabric to GORE-TEX PRO with Most Rugged Technology, RECCO® reflector, and WaterTight™ side zippers for rapid ventilation.
Ergonomic 3-Dimensional (e3D) patterning brings an enhanced range-of-motion in Arcteryx Trim, Athletic, and Expedition fit categories. These pants were designed as a part of Athletic fit which utilizes anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion and eliminate excess bulk. Trimmer fit with room for a base layer, a light fleece mid-layer and a synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

Naramnice je potrebno nekje dokupit, luknje za vrvico za pritrditev kot gamašo imajo, sicer je potrebno nekaj iznajdljivosti. Drugače dober kos opreme.

Res je da so all-round - za smučanje bi prav prišla bolj konkretna gamaša, čeprav tudi ta deluje. Zanke za naramnice imajo, kompatibilne so z Arcteryx Leaf naramnicami.

Oznaka hlač AR, tj. allround, bi težko bolj držala. Hlače so odličen vsestranski izdelek, niso pa nikakor (!) prilagojene prav nobeni "outdoor" aktivnosti (glej spodaj). Sam (180cm, 75kg, velikost M) sem hlače kupil za zimske dostope in vzpone, saj sem se v toplih softshell hlačah redno pregreval. V ožjem izboru so bile Arcteryx Procline (mnogo cenejše, a prilagojene turni smuki, s preširoko in pretežko integrirano gamašo ter zaščitnim delom), Karpos Puez (zadrge po celotni dolžini nog, brez možnosti ožanja spodnjega dela), Karpos Palu (minimalna, nepotrebna izolacija in odsotnost zračnikov) ter Millet Kamet (zdijo se zelo široke) in nekaj Norroninih modelov, ki bodo na voljo šele pomladi 2022.
Hlače imajo tipični Arcteryxov integriran pas, padejo nizko, in nimajo niti možnosti natikanja naramnic niti vodil za samostojen pas, prav tako pa nimajo integriranih gamaš, zaradi česar niso primerne za (backcountry) turno ali drugo smuko oz. deskanje (za vse uporabljam druge, ožje usmerjene hlače). So primerno ozke za alpinistični čevelj ter dovolj kratke za dostopnega in imajo sistem nekakšne "pol-gamaše" z dodatnim robom ter možnostjo ožanja (spodaj se brez težav namestijo klasične gamaše) in dobro zaščito proti derezam (na račun dodatne teže). Vendar pa (zaradi cene) z njimi nikakor ne bi šel npr. v plezališče, čeprav se zdijo dovolj gibljive in hkrati ozke. Zadrga se ne odpira po celotni dolžini noge, kar mi ustreza, niso pa primeren nakup kot dodaten zaščitni sloj, tj., priložnostno nataknjen Goretexov sloj, a predvsem pozimi (zaradi nujnosti snemanja derez), pri čemer bi to nalogo sicer lahko opravljale v vseh letnih časih. Seveda so nesorazmerno drage - stopajo v polje "resnih" alpinističnih hlač (npr. Millet Trilogy, North Face Summit Futurelight ).
Če kupujete hlače, ki bodo "odkljukale" vse dejavnosti, a nobene v celoti, svetujem nakup! Odveč je poudarjati, da odlično odvajajo vlago, v notranjščino pa ne spustijo ničesar. -

Visoka cena in izredna kvaliteta. Hlače so trpežne, vodoodporne ter dobro dihajo. Polet tega pa imajo še možnost stranske ventilacije.
