POC Skull Dura MIPS helmet gives certified protection and is developed for a fit that causes no distractions at the very highest speeds that ski racers reach. It has been engineered with a unique approach to protection and meets the demands that come with higher speeds, more violent impacts and the repetitive violence caused by hitting gates. Skull Dura Comp has a patent-pending deflector panel with multi-impact EPP and POC’s VPD 2.0 compound in the front, which allows gates to be deflected with minimal energy transmission to the head. The deflector panel also protects the liner of the helmet, which maintains the integrity of the helmet and ensures it performs when you need it most; during a real crash. It features a new fit technology, Race Lock. The innovative system ensures ski racers can lock the helmet tightly to their head to minimize vibrations at the very high speeds reached in elite racing. Mips Integra seamlessly and almost invisibly integrates rotational impact protection into the helmet.
The helmet is certified to FIS RH 2013 standards. Safety features in the helmet include a VPD (visco-elastic polymer dough) deflector panel for protection from repeat impacts. VPD can absorb and dissipate impact forces over and over again without losing any of its protective properties. The helmet also includes aramid penetration protection and a multi-impact EPP liner.
Earpads are removable, so it is easier for medics to safely remove the helmet if an injury has been sustained. Other features include a Fidlock® buckle that can be operated with gloves on, SPIN silicone pad technology, and a fixed goggle clip. The helmet is compatible with the POC Maxilla Breakaway chin guard.
