BackKids’ ski boots: designed specifically for young skiers – from first steps on snow to junior racers.
Children’s ski boots are a crucial part of ski equipment, as the proper fit ensures safe learning and faster progress. Boots that are too big mean poor foot hold and less control, which can even lead to injuries. Too small, and they cause discomfort and reduce the joy of skiing.
When choosing kids’ ski boots, you should consider foot size, flex / stiffness, and the skiing level of the child:
- Beginners: softer and lighter kids’ boots that forgive mistakes and make learning basic turns easier.
- Intermediate kids: firmer boots with higher flex for more stability and better energy transfer to the skis.
- Junior racers: race-inspired models with features similar to adult boots but adapted to a child’s lower weight and smaller foot.
Boot size is measured in mondo point (foot length in millimeters). Parents often buy slightly larger boots, but they should not be too big – otherwise the foot won’t be properly fixed and the child won’t have enough control.
The shell and liner of kids’ boots are softer and more comfortable, enabling all-day skiing without pressure points. Many models come with simple closure systems (2 buckles or velcro), so children can put them on and take them off by themselves.
For younger skiers, warmth is very important. We recommend adding ski boot heaters to keep their feet warm even on the coldest days.
Kids’ ski boots are the foundation for safe and fun learning. With the right pair, children will progress faster while developing good technique and a love for winter sports.
