Touring skis: if you prefer hiking up snowy mountain peaks on foot, then you need touring skis. The main features of these skis are their lower weight, excellent floatation, and solid performance on all types of snow.
In recent years, touring skis have also become somewhat wider, 90–100 mm underfoot, and they use different rockers for better float in deep snow. Wider, longer, and stiffer touring skis are suitable for experienced ski tourers.
For beginners, we recommend buying slightly narrower and shorter skis, usually about 10 cm below body height. Touring skis must be combined with the right touring bindings and climbing skins for uphill travel.
