Recognized on the road, tested on the trail, the Hoka Challenger ATR 7 GTX is designed, like its predecessors, for the intersection of road and trail running. Revamped, from the sole to the upper, with a simpler mesh for better breathability. The midsole made of soft foam provides comfortable running, thanks to an added 2 mm of cushioning. The outer sole is equipped with Hoka's patented durable Durabrasion rubber, which performs very well on asphalt and even better in nature. The new sole design ensures an exceptional running experience. Inspired by gravel bike tires, smaller, closely positioned lugs are placed in the center of the shoe for better grip on uneven terrain, while larger, more aggressive lugs are positioned towards the edge.

The special meta-rocker geometry of the sole ensures more efficient energy transfer, reduces energy consumption and load, which helps to reduce the risk of injury.
