The Arc'teryx Beta AR is a jacket you can rely on in any conditions. Take it on a cold winter hike, a ski touring mission, or a sunny day in the mountains and it will never let you down. The label AR (All Round) means it’s a truly versatile hardshell jacket designed for all kinds of winter mountain activities. It’s built for conditions where you need real protection from wind, snow, and rain. The shoulders and sleeves use more durable GORE-TEX PRO to handle abrasion from a backpack, rocks, and ice, while a lighter fabric is used on the body to keep the jacket comfortable and not too heavy. The result is a combination of durability where it matters and lower weight where it’s possible. On the ascent, the jacket breathes well, and in bad weather the DropHood helmet-compatible hood keeps you protected. For extra safety, a built-in RECCO reflector helps rescuers locate you in case of emergency. The design is well thought out: pockets are placed higher so they stay accessible with a climbing harness or backpack hipbelt, the zippers are waterproof, and the fit allows unrestricted movement.
